Boost Mobile Customer Service

May 5th, 2011 No comments

Prepaid phones are notorious for having mediocre or sometimes awful customer service. When you are used to having service from a traditional provider, it is easy to expect that you are going to have that same level of customer support from a cheaper carrier. That is not always the case.

From what I can tell boost mobile customer service is pretty good in most cases. Boost mobile is owned by Sprint, so that means you have a real company behind it, they aren’t just reselling other carriers minutes in the same way that Tracfone or Net10 do. That doesn’t mean they are perfect, it just means they have more resources.

Boost mobile is also based in the USA, so most of the time you are more likely to have a US based customer service rep than someone in a call center in India. However, this is not always the case. Just be patient with the customer service representative and you’re likely to get better service.

This is the contact info for boost mobile customer service:

1-866-402-7366

4am PST – 9pm PST
7 days a week

Here is another way to get service, go to a Sprint store. Sprint stores are now offering boost mobile and virgin mobile phones, so they likely can help you out with a lot of questions just as if you were a normal Sprint customer. This is not highly publicized yet, but it is likely to be a bigger differentiator over time for boost and Sprint.

You can also contact boost mobile via social meedia like twitter @boostmobile or facebook. Since most companies don’t like to deal with public shame, you should be able to get a response from them directly.

In the end, it always boils down to patience for the process. You aren’t paying as much with boost mobile as other carriers and as a result they make cuts in physical customer service. You’re getting an awesome deal for awesome service, so it’s not worth complaining about.

Just remember, they aren’t out to screw you over like most companies because you don’t have a contract with them. There will be errors and mistakes, but there are the same errors and mistakes to be found at Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile.

In my experience dealing with customer service from many prepaid operators, I can tell you for sure that most of the time your problems can be resolved in one or two calls. That’s it. It can be incredibly frustrating at the time, but the upside is that you save money every single day you are using the service and in the end that is worth way more than the temporary frustration of sometimes spotty customer service.
